The Concord Review (TCR)

Notes

FindClassics Notes

Best for: Students who have already written a substantial history research paper and want one of the most recognized high school publication outlets. Day to day: Students submit a long history essay on a rolling basis and, if selected, the paper is typeset and published in a quarterly issue. Essays are eligible for the next four issues, and the journal publishes about five percent of submissions. Common pitfalls: The guidelines are strict. Essays are expected to be roughly 5,000 to 10,000 words or more, use Turabian Chicago endnotes and bibliography (endnotes only, no footnotes), and be submitted electronically as a Word or RTF file. Graphics are not accepted, and there is a submission fee plus detailed formatting and file-naming requirements. Verify details on the official page.
